以下のツイートを偶然見かけて、半信半疑でアクセスしてみたのが2019/10/9のことでした。

開いたのは以下のページ。
あまり細かい規約とかは読まずに、「REGSTER NOW」をクリックしてレジストしてみました。
そしたら、なんと、あのIHGリワーズクラブ最高峰「スパイアエリート」に昇格！！！
で、思わず以下のように歓喜のツイート。

ちょうど、
- 来週末（国内某所）
- 11月の三連休（国内某所）
- あと年末（国内某所）
にいずれもIHG系ホテルに宿泊する予定があったので、これは超ラッキー！
公式にはアーリーチェックインぐらいしかプラチナとの違いはないんだけど、もしかするといい部屋に案内してくれたりして？と思ったり、妄想は膨らむ一方。
ちょっと待てよ？
と、ここまでは良かったのですが、なんでこんなに簡単なんだろう？
とふと我に返って思って以下の「Instant Spire Terms & Conditions」を読んでみました。
Instant Spire Terms & Conditions
The Instant Spire Elite offer (“Offer”) allows full time employees of an Eligible Company to experience most of the Spire Elite membership benefits for 90 days upon joining IHG® Rewards Club or registering for the offer as an existing IHG® Rewards Club member. Upon registering for the offer the member will be upgraded within 5 to 10 business days upon verifying they are employed by an ‘eligible company’. The Offer is valid between October 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 and the member will have 90 days from the day of registration to consume the designated number of nights required to retain elite status for the calendar year of 2020. Instant Spire Elite members under this Offer will receive the bonus points or gifting benefit after completion of the required Stays. This offer is limited to the first 5,000 registrants.
All full-time employees of an Eligible Company, who register between October 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019, make the required stays within 90 days of registration and book through ihg.com or an eligible company booking tool will retain Spire Elite status after ten (10) qualifying nights and Platinum Elite status after five (5) qualifying nights during the Offer period. Status will be retained through 2020. If the member does not make the designated nights during the 90 day offer period, then they will be downgraded to their previous membership level 90 days from the date of registration.
A maximum of 15,000 bonus points can be earned in this promotion. An employee of an Eligible company can Stay once and earn 1,000 bonus points, stay twice and earn 4,000 bonus points IHG Rewards Club points and stay three times and earn 10,000 bonus points. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for points to appear in your account.
Members must book their stay using the corresponding IHG corporate travel booking codes through the Eligible Company corporate booking tool or booking direct at ihg.com with a minimum qualifying rate of $35 per night. IHG reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Offer if any fraud, technical failures, human error or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper administration of the Offer. Offer and members are subject to the IHG® Rewards Club membership terms and conditions found at ihgrewardsclub.com.
Reservations consumed prior to registration or outside the Offer period will not be eligible for the Offer. This Offer is only available for each new booking/Stay during the Offer Period.
うわー、どこか特定企業向けのオファーじゃん！
つまり、IHGが特定企業の正社員に対して与えた特典で、申し込んじゃいけないやつだった模様。ガーン。
でも、IHGからすれば誰がどこの企業の社員かわからないのでは？
いやあ、ネットで拡散して急増しただろうから、不正事案とわかるでしょう。refererとか探ればすぐに特定できちゃうよ。
じゃあどうするの？
あとで懲罰措置を受けると嫌だから、一度聞いておこうかな。
IHGに直接確認してみた
というわけで、翌日IHGリワーズクラブ サービスセンターに電話して聞いてみました。
もしもしー、なんか申し込んじゃ行けなさそうなキャンペーンに申し込んで、スパイアエリートになっちゃったんですけどー
（しばらく確認後）資格は付与済みなので、このまま継続してご使用頂けます。ただし、対象企業の従業員ではない場合は、ポイント付与はできません。
あーそうでしたか。じゃあ、資格はこのまま使えるわけですね？
はいそのとおりです。
あーよかったー
というやりとりをおこなって、ほっとして一件落着。
のはずでした。が、、、
そして、悲劇は訪れた

でもプラチナエリートに戻っただけでしょ？
まあねー。全タイトル剥奪じゃなくてよかったけど。
でも、わざわざ電話して、結構待たされて確認してもらったのに、全然違うじゃーん（涙）
今日2012/10/12、気付きました。スパイアエリート資格は剥奪です。
まあ、本来申し込めるものではなかったので、無効化されることは仕方ありません。楽しい夢を見せてもらいました。
でもこわいー。今後ペナルティがないことを祈りながら、怯えて震えながら生きることにしますｗ
